My name is Adam LuMaye. I grew up in the Milwaukee area, where my parents encouraged me to try as many different activities and hobbies as possible when I was still young. One of these was music, and I discovered something that I not only loved, but was also good at! What kept me in music, though, was the people that I got to play with and the connections I made. In high school I discovered that I enjoyed making and growing these connections by helping my fellow students learn as a section leader and drum leader for our band.
This led me to get my bachelor’s degree in Music Education from UW-Milwaukee in 2024. Yes, that means this will be my first year as a certified teacher, and I’m so excited that it’ll be at Traver! In the past I’ve taught as part of music camps, small group sectionals, and private lessons for all ages. I hope to expand Traver’s students’ knowledge of not just making or playing music, but also listening to, creating, and generally experiencing music. In my free time, believe it or not, I listen to music and play my instruments! I try to gig around when I can, or attend live music events that my friends are playing in. When I’m not doing music related activities (which is rare!) I can typically be found hanging out with friends and playing casual sports, going on bike rides, or enjoying a good book. I expect to spend lots of time at and around the lake! |
