My name is Noelle Hamilton and I am the special education teacher at Traver School. I have been working in special education for almost nine years now. Every day I feel so thankful that I get to pursue a career that I absolutely love. My general teaching philosophy is that ALL kids can learn, ALL kids can do more than they think, and ALL kids truly matter. I value human connection, communication and honesty. I do my best to ensure that all kids feel safe to be who they are in my classroom. I strive to empower them so that they feel like they can accomplish anything.
My job is to be creative and help all students access the curriculum at school, no matter what their unique abilities might be. Over the years I have worked at the Elkhorn Area School district and at Lakeland School. Both of these places were tremendous experiences where I was able to learn so much and grow both personally and professionally. I started at Traver at the beginning of the 2019-2020 school year and I have to say, it is like no other school I have been. The small class sizes make for a familial experience, almost like you are at a private school--but without that private school tuition. It's an incredibly unique place to work, and I feel so lucky to be here.
In my free time, I love to be with my family. I have an amazing husband, a 16 year old son, and a 13 year old daughter. We live in Elkhorn and keep very busy with lots of horse shows, our church, and our pets!
Please know that my door is always open. If you ever have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to call. Good communication is essential to the parent-teacher partnership.
