Hi, my name is Camelia Behrens, but everyone calls me Cami. I grew up in Fontana, WI and went to Fontana Elementary School and Big Foot High School. I graduated from the University of Wisconsin Whitewater with a bachelor's in Secondary Mathematics Education and a minor in Psychology in 2009. My husband is my high school sweetheart, and we have two children. We had our son, Bodie, in June of 2016 and our daughter, Brynlie, in June of 2019. I come from a family of teachers. My stepmom teaches Business at a high school in Illinois, my stepsister teaches Family & Consumer Science at a high school in Illinois, and my stepbrother is going to college to get a degree in Broad Field Social Studies. We are all passionate about teaching and instilling a love for learning in our students.
I started teaching at Traver in 2013. I teach 5th through 8th grade math. I absolutely love working with the middle schoolers and couldn't imagine being anywhere else! Something unique about my classroom is students have the choice to give me a handshake, high five, or hug each day as they enter our classroom (some students have made up some very creative handshakes!). It's a great way to start class each day, and I enjoy doing it. I love the atmosphere here at Traver! We truly are one big family. I look forward to having both my own children become a part of the Traver family as well!! In my spare time, I love spending time with my family and friends. We enjoy being outdoors, fishing, hiking, four-wheeling, and camping. In high school, I learned that I have an interest in photography. I have grown to be very passionate about photography and editing pictures. Communication is important to me, and I want parents to feel like they are a part of their child's education. Feel free to contact me via email or phone. |
