Speech Language Pathologist for 2024-2025
The Linn J4 (Traver School) and Linn J6 (Reek School) School Districts are accepting applications for a 1.0 FTE Speech Therapist beginning in the 2024-2025 school year to serve ages 3 to 14. This is a shared position of 50% at each school- and a short 4-minute drive between buildings.
Candidates interested in applying need to be able to be proficient within their own scope of work. The administrators will trust that duties are fulfilled between each school. This is an ideal position for someone who wants to be independent. Candidates should be organized, have a thorough knowledge of IEP expectations and procedures, and an ability to meet all timelines. Knowledge of OASYS and Skyward is very important for all the IEP forms and documentation. If the candidate does not have knowledge of OASYS or Skyward, we are willing to train.
Responsibilities: Evaluate speech and language development and provide an individualized program plan of objectives and activities that will enhance the child's ability to communicate. Able to create and follow a schedule and work efficiently throughout the day. Must hold a Master's Degree and the current Wisconsin State Teaching License 1820.
Both Reek and Traver enjoy small caseloads. Our staffs: one teacher per grade level and a small team of teachers at the middle school level. The administrators at each school/district work well together and collaborate often.
Both are small, rural 4K-8 schools and districts located south of beautiful Lake Geneva. The schools have been serving kids since the 1800's and both started as one-room schoolhouses. We are located 2 miles from each other, so it is an easy 4-minute drive from one to the other. Our staffs are small and collaborative. Our stakeholders take pride in our small, rural school. Pay and Benefits: Starts at $50,000 and will be competitive based on experience. Contracted for 182 days, holidays and summers off.
Health insurance- single or family. District pays 88%, Employee 12%.
Deductible is an unheard of $250 single/$500 family!
Dental insurance- single or family. District pays 100%.
Long-term disability- district pays 100%
Voluntary employe paid: Life insurance (district pays 20%), vision insuranceWisconsin Retirement System (WRS) plus a $1,000 annual retirement HRA which is fully vested upon departure of the district.(The contract and benefits will be officially held with Traver.)

We are an independent district--not part of the Lake Geneva J1 system. We hire our own subs, and we are always accepting applications for substitutes. We would like you to be a sub at our school! We pay $140/day for subs.

The State of Wisconsin's requirements for substitutes is at least an associate's degree from an accredited institution and substitute training.
