Hi, my name is Mrs. Cates. The year 2020 marks my third year teaching at Traver School and I could not be more excited! For the past three years, I have taught 2nd grade and I cannot imagine being anywhere else! The smiles, excitement, and learning that students bring make my day! I’ve had over 15 years of teaching young children in early childhood and I love it!

Wisconsin has been home for my entire life. I graduated from Alverno College with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and later attended Cardinal Stritch University to receive a Master's Degree in Leadership. Outside of the classroom my family includes my children Megan, Daniel and Corey, who are now 27 year old triplets! I also have 2 grandchildren, Zsofia (4) and Lola (8 months), who keep me very busy. I love the outdoors, including camping, swimming and kayaking. Of course, I enjoy taking our little dachshund dog named Cooper for a walk, too. I am an avid Packer and Brewer fan and I love to cheer them on throughout the season.
